Working from Home

We are always on hand to answer any questions you might have about your survey report.

We aim to cut the jargon and explain things in a simple and helpful manner.

If there are problems that may need other specialist services we can recommend these to you.

You are in safe hands. All our surveyors are regulated by Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Is my surveyor qualified?

When you purchase a Survey through Skysurvuk, your survey will be carried out by a surveyor experienced in the inspection of residential property and with knowledge of the local area. All our surveyors are Chartered, which means they are Professional Members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Please look in the 'About Us' section for more information.

How long will it take to get a survey?

We aim to arrange all surveys within three working days of your enquiry and issue reports within five working days of visiting the property.

Why did I not get to see the results of my mortgage survey?

Although you pay for a mortgage survey, the report goes directly to your lender. Quite often you will not see the results other than a confirmation that the valuation was acceptable to them. To safeguard your own investment it is always advisable to get a home buyers or building survey, which will come directly to you.

I can't understand some of the phrases in my survey, please help?

We understand that once you received our report you may have concerns or are unsure about some of the technical language, as part of our after care service we can arrange for the surveyor to contact you and answer any questions you may have at no extra cost to yourself.

You have identified a problem with the property, what do I do now?

Firstly, don't panic! Many old buildings have hidden problems and it is better to go into a purchase with your eyes open. Just remember, there is always a solution to any problem. The most important thing to find out the extent of the damage and any associated costs with putting it right. Most of the time we are able to give you guidance on these matters but sometimes you may need an additional survey by an expert, for example in cases of severe damp, rot, subsidence etc.

Is my surveyor insured?

All Skysurvuk surveyors have valid Professional Indemnity Insurance so that they are properly covered in the unlikely event of any issue arising and can provide you with the highest level of service. Our reputation depends on making sure our customers are looked after by experienced professional surveyors.

Is my surveyor regulated?

All surveyors providing residential surveying services to the public are required by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to be regulated. Regulation ensures that RICS members and firms meet the requirements of RICS Rules of Conduct. Skysurvuk is regulated by RICS.

What is the Property Ombudsman Service?

You can be confident that arrangements are in place for you to obtain financial compensation in the unlikely event of a justifiable complaint about the survey. In addition if at any time you are not satisfied with how your surveyor is dealing with your complaint you can contact the Property Ombudsman Service who will adjudicate on your behalf. This service is completely free of charge. Further information can be obtained from the Property Ombudsman Service website:
